RJ's directorial credits have run the gamut from the academic to the professional, as well as summer stock to theatre for young audiences. His recent directing projects include Little Shop of Horrors, 1984, and Baby. He also wrote the libretto and directed the 2023 Minnesota State University, Mankato children's production titled Not All Heroes Wear Capes. This original musical toured local elementary schools during that spring semester and is currently available for licensing. RJ began his career as an assistant and associate director to renowned stage directors such as Peter Reynolds, Bill Roudebush, and Brenna Geffers. Directorially, he is always looking for new ways to represent a piece visually. Thus, RJ's projects are always known for startling, emotional, colorful, and abstract stage images that are always in service of the text.
